Regularly withdrawing cash from ATMs keeps these machines in demand, signalling to banks and businesses that people still want and use cash. This creates pressure to maintain the infrastructure that supports a cash economy.

4. Support Businesses Using Cash

Favour businesses that accept cash to encourage them to continue doing so. Be sure to tell them you’re supporting them because they accept cash. This reaffirms that there is a customer base valuing the option to pay with cash, which can influence them to maintain the practice.

5. Boycott Businesses Going Cashless

Avoid businesses that refuse cash payments to send a strong message that their policy is unacceptable. Be sure to tell them you’re not supporting them because of their cashless policy.
